I was in Honduras for the past week and saw so many of the things that keep me going back. It is amazing that - just like here in the states - we can drive past areas of suffering and never take the time to open our eyes to see what is happening. That was the case for me on Sunday morning. I had to leave Santa Ana early Sunday morning to take a friend to the airport so I decided to go on over to Los Pinos to attend worship. On the way to Los Pinos, I noticed an exit sign into a community called Colonia La Canada. It is in easy view from the highway and I had never noticed it. In Colonia La Canada, there are probably 50 houses and there isn't one of them that doesn't need to be torn down and replaced. Likely there are about 350 to 400 people living in these 50 houses and they need to be noticed. If they are living in places like I saw, then it is obvious that they are hungry and need to be fed too. If they are hungry, then they are probably in need of some "Good News!" too. We have all of the tools that these people are praying for - we can deliver houses, food, & the hope and promise of a better time. All in the name of Jesus.
If you are not praying every day for our mission, it is time to start. Pray today for the people of Colonia La Canada.
We all need to be praying that our God will pour out blessings on the people of Honduras through our team. Please pray that we will have all the resourses that we can use to build, feed, and deliver the good news to people in need.
I am ready for 13 great days in Honduras!
Blessings,
Marc
